Sejarah Melayu (Malay Annals) has landed in Singapore!

We are so excited to read that a rare copy of the Sejarah Melayu (Malay Annals) has landed in Singapore! There are only five known copies of this book in existence.

The book traces the origin and evolution of the great Malay maritime empire and includes the story of Sang Nila Utama when he arrived in Singapore circa 1299. It was printed in Singapore in the 1840s and edited by Munshi Abdullah, who was Raffles' Malay tutor.
